Association Initiatives
Homeowner Property Loss
Home owners on each side of the road would lose between 8 and 23 feet of their property.
Environmental Preservation
There's been no environmental impact study to determine the number of old growth trees that would be lost.
Minor Roadway Repairs vs. Major Construction
While improvements in water runoff are needed along Cherokee, areas of erosion are found chiefly found south of Old Westham to South Drive.
Roadway Safety
Widening the roads may increase the speeds at which vehicles travel.
Cost and Length of Project
Estimated costs for the project are excessive. Per city information, costs are estimated to total between $9,950,000 and $18,450,000 per phase. It is not yet known how many years it would take for the project to be completed.
Association Engagement
We are dedicated to fostering a close-knit community on Cherokee Road. Please join us in our efforts to improve passage on this historic roadway while preserving its natural charm.
